In terms of form, Mårten Cyrén has created a design with Arkus that is subordinate to the architecture and allows repetition in the urban space. The function is flexible and allows both a bicycle wheel to be placed in the arch, or two bicycles to be attached to the same arch, then placed on the outside of the arch. In both cases, Arkus works well to lock into.

Byarums Bruk in Småland manufactures park and garden furniture, planters, products for urban spaces and more. All in sand moulded castings. The production at Byarum consists of a mix of classic models and modern design. The oldest model is dated 1780, the latest is brand new. So today, Byarum manufactures products that have been designed over four centuries, and all products are made at the foundry in Byarum.

In the Byarum foundry, we work exclusively according to older, artisanal methods, known as raw sand moulding. This means that for each part to be cast, they make a mould from natural sand and water without chemical binders. The mould is then filled with molten metal, and the cast piece emerges. In this way, each moulded part is unique.
