Tom Dixon – Iconic British design with global impact Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand founded in 2002, known for its innovative and bold designs in furniture, lighting, and interior accessories. Headquartered in London and with a presence in over 90 countries, the brand has grown into an international design force with offices in Milan, New York, Tokyo, and Shanghai, among other locations. In total, over 100 people work globally to realize Tom Dixon's unique vision. The brand reflects a strong connection to its British roots, but combines this with innovative materials and manufacturing techniques. The products are characterized by their sculptural form, technical precision, and a clear, experimental expression—often in metal, glass, and recycled materials. Behind the name is Tom Dixon himself, a self-taught designer who made his breakthrough in the 1980s with his idiosyncratic, welded furniture made from recycled materials. During his time at Cappellini, he designed the now iconic S chair. He has also been creative director at Habitat and has received several prestigious awards, including an OBE from the British Queen and the London Design Medal. At the heart of the brand is the Design Research Studio, a multidisciplinary design agency that creates interiors and environments around the world. Its projects include Virgin Voyages cruise ships, The Pullman Hotel in Paris, and the acclaimed restaurant The Manzoni in Milan—a hybrid of shop, office, and restaurant. Since 2018, Tom Dixon has been based at the Coal Office in King's Cross, London – a creative hub where design, gastronomy, and retail come together under one roof. Tom Dixon is the place where extraordinary design meets function, and where unexpected ideas are transformed into future classics.
