The May Bench by New Works mirrors the lines and dimensions of the largest table in the May collection – a light steel sheet wraps neatly around a sturdy steel frame to form the seat, with a signature drainage slit that serves as a unifying design detail across the series. Standing alone, it invites quiet moments on a garden stroll; paired with the May Table, it sets the perfect scene for relaxed outdoor dining, with room to squeeze in extra guests when needed. Finished in a primer and outdoor-grade top coat, available in light grey and dark green.

New Works was founded by Nikolaj Meier and Knut Bendik Humlevik with the vision of creating a design studio where every product is crafted with care, intention and a desire to explore new creative expressions. Whilst Nikolaj oversees the company’s operations as CEO, Knut leads the creative direction as Creative Director. Together with a dedicated team, they develop a collection of unique yet accessible design objects for the modern home.

New Works operates at the intersection of old and new, light and dark, design and art. The brand draws inspiration from the strong Scandinavian tradition of craftsmanship and material expertise, whilst challenging conventional forms through contemporary design. Through collaborations with internationally recognised designers and craftspeople, products are created that combine sculptural expression with honest and genuine materials.
